Determination of Flowing Electrolyte Parameters in a Zinc-Air Fuel Cell by the Taguchi Method

The flowing electrolyte in a zinc-air fuel cell (ZAFC) can reduce the problem of incomplete reaction caused by concentration gradient electrolyte. In this study, we propose self-developed ZAFC with system and optimize control parameters. anode used Zn particles through which penetrates combined negative pressure pump to allow potassium hydroxide (KOH) have an effective chemical during discharge process. However, flow rate is required match other parameters, such as operating temperature, KOH concentration, size, effectively improve efficiency ZAFC. Therefore, Taguchi method adopted obtain optimal parameters key factors affecting cell. best operation condition temperature at 50°C, 30% wt, 150ml/min; then, maximum power obtained from experimental results 13.8 W, current density reaches 699.721 mA/cm2, 395.037 mW/cm2. This paper provides valuable insights for upgrade future practical applications.
